Halloween 2016, Park Avenue, Wappingers Falls NY. The Village is a great place to celebrate Halloween. Tree lines sidewalks make for easy access to homes, most of which are decorated for the holiday. It is not unusual for residents to hand out treats to over 200 trick-or-treaters.

Shortly after the attack at the Pulse in Orlando a vigil was held in Mesier Park in Wappingers Falls. This photo was taken as the names of those killed was being read. The average age of the victims was 26.

A well maintained historic house at the corner of South Anenue and Saterlee Place. Somehow the four old trees in front of this house have survived the weather and the annual wire clearing of the electric company.
The annual Dutchess County Saint Patrick's Parade is held in the Village of Wappingers Falls. Many homes and businesses are decorated for the festive day, always the first Saturdai in March. This photo shows park of the display in the window of Off the Chain Tattoo shop.

One side of the water is East Main Street, the other is West Main Street. Both sides are in the Village of Wappingers Falls but the east side is in the Town of Wappinger while the west side is the Town of Poughkeepsie. Of the thousands of drivers that travel over this bridge every day, relatively few are aware that there is a a falls here.

Thorntons repair shop on West Main Street. A Wappingers Falls Police Car can be seen on the side of the building. This is a favorite spot for them to watch the traffic signal at the nearby corner.
Several balloons in the 2015 Hudson Valley Balloon Festival made a stop at Veterans Park in Wappingers Falls. The people fishing didn't seem to notice.

Took this shot of the W.T. Garner Fire Department late on a Sunday night. While most residents were in their homes resting for the work week ahead, volunteer firefighters were out on a call.
A supermoon is seen over the Village of Wappingers Falls on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015.  The combination of a supermoon and total lunar eclipse last occurred in 1982 and will not happen again until 2033.
